Vera Farmiga Pens Touching Tribute to Lorraine Warren, Who She Played in ‘The Conjuring’ Series
Earlier today, we told you about the passing of Lorraine Warren, the real-life paranormal investigator whose career with her husband Ed inspired numerous books and movies, including the popular Conjuring and Annabelle series. In The Conjuring, Lorraine Warren was played by Vera Farmiga, who has now posted a very touching tribute to the late ghost hunter on Twitter. Here’s what she wrote:
My dear friend Lorraine Warren has passed. From a deep feeling of sorrow, a deep feeling of gratitude emerges. I was so blessed to have known her and am honored to portray her. She lived her life in grace and cheerfulness. She wore a helmet of salvation, she dawned her sword compassion, and took a shield of faith. Righteousness was her breastplate, and she has touched my life so. Love you Lorraine. You're waltzing with Ed now.
I’ve seen several other pictures of Farmiga and Warren together; the former always looks so happy to be in her presence. The connection between an actor and a real-life subject they play onscreen is not always close or even positive. But in this case, it clearly was.
Warren’s death was announced on Facebook by her grandson. Farmiga’s original tweets are below:
In a surreal twist, the latest spinoff to The Conjuring, The Curse of La Llorona, opens in theaters today.
