Two people were injured in a head-on crash that occurred Saturday morning in Saline County.

According to the MSHP, 93-year-old James N. Staub of Marshall was the driver of a 2012 Chevy Colorado on Missouri Route H, west of Lilac Avenue at 10:28 a.m. Aug. 3 when he attempted to turn west and crossed in front of an eastbound 2005 Ford Escape driven by 18-year-old Micaela R. Black of Nelson and collided head-on. The Escape then overturned, coming to rest on its side in the ditch, while the Chevy came to rest in the westbound lanes.

Both drivers suffered moderate injuries and were transported by SCAD to Fitzgibbon Hospital for medical treatment.

Black was wearing a safety device, while Staub was not, according to the report.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

Saline County deputies assisted the Patrol.
