Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday evening in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2007 Chrysler, driven by 63-year-old Billy R. Alkire of Sedalia, was making a left-hand turn into a private driveway on US 50 at Crestview Drive at 6:46 p.m., when an eastbound 2007 Ford, driven by 61-year-old Dolly K. Deal of Sedalia, struck the rear of the Chrysler.

Alkire suffered moderate injuries, and was taken to University Hospital by PCAD for treatment. A 17-year-old male from Smithton in the Chrysler suffered minor injuries, and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by PCAD.

Both vehicles had moderate damage.

Pettis County Deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
