Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred early Friday morning in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2001 Ford Explorer, driven by 40-year-old Ronald J. Duncan of Camdenton, was on Route M, south of McGee Road, at 12:36 a.m., when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center of the roadway, ran off the left side,m struck a ditch, and overturned twice before coming to rest on its wheels, facing northwest.

Duncan and his passenger, 54-year-old Sheila L. Pickett of Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries. Duncan was flown by Life Flight to University Hospital in Columbia, and Pickett was transported by PCAD to Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia.

Duncan was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Pickett was not, according to the report.

The Ford was totaled.

Pettis County Deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
