Three Sedalia Firefighters Promoted

Three Sedalia fighters were recognized after receiving promotions within the Sedalia Fire Department at the start of Monday night's City Council meeting.

Driver/Engineer Jeremy Pepin was recently promoted to Lieutenant. He was one of six who were promoted, but was unable to attend the previous meeting when the others received their lieutenant badge and helmet.

His stepdaughter Sierra did the honors of pinning the badge on him.

The promotions of six lieutenants opened up two driver positions to be filled.

Firefighters Taylor Guseman and Matt Kowalksi secured those two positions.

“Kowalski is a second generation firefighter, I just want you to know that,” said Sedalia Fire Chief Matt Irwin. “His grandfather was a driver/engineer for the Sedalia Fire Department.” His wife Kennedy and their girls did the pinning.

Guseman's father Aaron, who is also a driver/engineer, did the pinning for his son Taylor Guseman.
