These Are Missouri’s Top Four Hospitals
U.S. News and World Report recently ranked the best hospitals in Missouri. According to their report, St. Louis has the top three hospitals, while one Kansas City hospital is tied for third place.
Tieing for third place in Missouri on U.S. News and World Report's list is Mercy Hospital in St. Louis and St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City.
Mercy ranks as high performing in Pulmonology & Lung Surgery, Urology, and Gastroenterology & GI Surgery. Additionally, when it comes to performing various cancer surgeries and treatment of heart attacks and heart failure the hospital also received the high performing designation from the magazine.
St. Luke's ranks as high performing in Neurology & Neurosurgery and Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, and earned the high performing designation in some cancer treatments and surgeries as well as all of the ranked procedures dealing with Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery.
Coming in second place on U.S. News and World Report's list of the best hospitals in Missouri is Missouri Baptist Medical Center.
Missouri Baptist Medical Center scored as high performing in three different adult specialties including Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Geriatrics, and Urology. Additionally, they received the high performing designation for treating pneumonia, COPD, lung cancer surgery, hip replacements, knee replacements, stroke treatment, and a variety of treatments related to cardiology, heart, and vascular surgery.
The best hospital in Missouri according to U.S. News and World Report is Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Barnes-Jewish Hospital was nationally ranked in 11 adult specialties and rated high performing in one adult specialty and 18 procedures and conditions.
The hospital is ranked nationally when it comes to cancer treatment and surgeries; procedures and surgeries related to cardiology; heart and vascular surgery; diabetes and endocrinology; ear nose and throat; gastroenterology & GI surgery; geriatrics; neurology and neurosurgery; obstetrics and gynecology; orthopedics; pulmonology & lung surgery; rheumatology; and urology.
