You're hungry, but you're stuck at work, or school, or don't have time to go get a real meal. Or maybe you just want something sweet. Luckily, you've got some change and access to a vending machine. It's snack time. You insert your money, punch in the code, and get ready for that bar of sweetness to drop.

But it doesn't.

The little spiral-pusher-dispenser-thingy turns, but something goes wrong. Horribly wrong. You're candy bar doesn't drop. It stays where it is. You just paid 60-200 cents for a whole bunch of nothing. NOTHING. You just got screwed by that machine. Really, there's no worse feeling. Whether rage or despair, it's a strong emotion you feel at that moment.

However, there are two sides to every coin. There's another way that tale can go. You're on your way to whatever it is you're doing. Maybe you're feeling a little down. You need a pick-me-upper, but you only have a little change. Luckily it's just enough for a candy bar from the vending machine. You put in your money, punch in the code, and wait for the little spiral-pusher-dispenser-thingy to turn. It does.

And it KEEPS TURNING.

You get not only the item you paid for, but another one completely free! What a stroke of luck! Truly, you are a winner. This is going to be a great day! Man, everything is looking up, and you're feeling pretty good about life right now.

Both of these scenarios have happened to me, and I've had some pretty strong reactions both times. So here's the question: What's the stronger emotion, the happiness you feel from getting an additional item from the vending machine, or the anger and sadness you get when it rips you off? Let us know in our poll below!
