Watch Taylor Swift Sing ‘Tim McGraw’ With McGraw, Faith Hill in Nashville
Taylor Swift returned to Nashville on Saturday night (Aug. 25), bringing her Reputation Stadium Tour to Music City's Nissan Stadium ... and bringing Faith Hill and Tim McGraw with her. As a surprise, Swift asked the country power couple to join her during her performance of her song "Tim McGraw."
Readers can press play above to watch Swift sing "Tim McGraw" with Hill and the song's namesake himself. According to Setlist.fm, it was her first time performing the song -- her debut single -- on the Reputation Stadium Tour, and her first time including the song in her setlist since 2013. Seated at a piano, Swift began the song solo, to cheers from the crowd; those screams only grew louder when she introduced Hill for the song's second verse, and then McGraw after the song's second chorus.
Swift released "Tim McGraw" in June of 2006. She co-wrote the song with Liz Rose, based on an idea, Swift says, she had in math class.
"The concept for this song hit me because I was dating a guy who moved away, and it was going to be over for us. So I started thinking of things that I knew would remind him of me," Swift remembers. "The first thing that came to mind was that my favorite song is by Tim McGraw."
Nashville's Tennessean reports that Swift's Saturday night setlist also included her older, pre-pop songs "Love Story," "You Belong With Me" and "Should've Said No," as well as a rendition of "Better Man," the song she wrote for Little Big Town. In addition to McGraw and Hill, actress Nicole Kidman and model Karlie Kloss were also in attendance at the show.
"I came here at 11 years old with a CD of karaoke music, and my mom drove me up and down Music Row. I would scamper into record labels and say, ‘Please call me,’" Swift remembered onstage. "This is the city where I learned how to write songs. Every single thing I do, I learned in Nashville.”
