State Fair

Kids,  I know we're all easily charmed by the big, shiny, and brightly colored food booths all along the fairgrounds.  Heck, it's easy when you're surrounded by cheap,  convenient fare.  But, if you'll bear with me, we can get something very very tasty.

Okay, kids, so I know a lot of us go to the fair for the escape.  For the excitement.  For lots of things!  But, there are a few things you might miss from time to time if you just work your way through without truly exploring.

It’s been one year since the rigging above Sugarland’s stage toppled onto excited fans waiting for the band to begin their show at the Indiana State Fair. Seven were killed and dozens were injured in the tragic accident. Tonight (August 13), they’ll be remembered during a pause in the activities at the 2012 Indiana State Fair.

Josh Thompson and Justin Moore took the stage at the Pepsi Grandstands on Friday, August 10.  Thompson took the stage first and even shared the stage with Justin Moore a little bit.  Our own Bruce in the Morning got the pleasure of introducing Justin Moore to the stage.  Both performers played nice and loud, and could be heard throughout the fairgrounds.  Check out the photos from the concert here

Hello all!  The fair is here, and the weather has dipped down into the low 90s.  I'm going to break out the parka!  I hope everyone is enjoying the outdoors while they can.  Here's a rundown of events going on this week.

The first day of the 110th Missouri State Fair began today with speeches and music from the Marshall Municipal Band in front of the Fire Station on the North Side of the Fairgrounds. A large crowd endured the heat, as Mark Wolfe, the Missouri State Fair Director lead off with a speech that recognized the success and longevity of the fair.
