I got the chance to have a conversation with the leader/namesake of the Pat Travers Band.

If you've ever been on IMDb, you know that their movies are rated by readers on a scale of 1-10. Except for one movie. Rob Reiner's classic rock mockumentary This is Spinal Tap is the only movie on IMDb that is rated on a scale of 1-11, the fictional level Spinal Tap sets their amps to. Now crank it up to eleven in the latest installment of You Think You Know Movies!

Country curmudgeons looking to blame hip-hop for what they see as the fall of country music have it wrong. Sure, acts like Brantley Gilbert and Jason Aldean are quick to drop rappers alongside country legends when listing influences, but it’s the aggressive, unapologetically loud guitar riffs of the ‘80s that are truly shaping the format today.

Kids, you and I both know that there are new country singers every day. There are some that work, and some that... well, don't.  Let's be clear before I start in on this. When I'm referring to these people, I mean folks who started out in either rock or pop music, had some success there, and are now doing country music. Some have had bigger successes than others.
