A little over 24 hours after MoDOT forced the City of Sedalia to close the Washington Street Bridge to due to safety concerns, the Pettis County Commission stepped up and donated $200,000 to help with the cost of repairing the railroad bridge.
The public should be aware of the background surrounding the changes the Pettis County Commissioners have announced regarding allocations to Cities of the half-percent Road and Bridge county-wide sales taxes.
After the inspection of the bridge was complete, it was determined the project was substantially finalized and the road was ordered opened to traffic effective immediately.
The Pettis County Clerk and two employees are suing the County Commission and its IT Director for illegally recording and monitoring private communications.
