If you want to avoid the heat and the rain, you should probably get to the Missouri State Fair sooner rather than later.  According to The Weather Channel, we have a pretty good shot at some rain towards the end of the fair.  Here's the breakdown:

LoCash Cowboys are coming to Cadillac Ranch in Warrensburg on August 17, and we've got tickets to give away!  This country duo comprised of Chris Lucas and Preston Brust is one of the hottest acts on the country circuit today, with hits like "Here Comes Summer," and co-writing  Keith Urban's single "You Gonna Fly" and Tim McGraw's "Truck Yeah."

Kids, this weekend was a busy one.  We had two nights out at the Mark Twain Apartments Fundraiser out at Dukes and Boots.

Michael Phelps came in 4th in the 400m individual medley on Saturday.  NBC made the decision to broadcast the race in prime time instead of live.  Twitter absolutely exploded.  People were angry at other news outlets for posting the results of the race and other spoilers before they had the chance to see them.  Some gave NBC some flack for not airing the race live.   For the first time, Olympians

Last night was one of the first benefits for those of us who were displaced by the big fire at the Mark Twain Apartment complex.  It was held at the St Paul's Lutheran Church.

Daisy Dukes and Cowboy Boots is now collecting items to aid the folks that woke up last Thursday morning without even a change of clothes.  To quote Dale Malone "We ask for furniture, kitchen items, clothing toys, pet food, home goods, towels etc... gift cards are great too!"

There's a lot going on this week, so let's get right to it!  First, the Crappie are biting in three to six feet of water on the flats, and 25 - 30 feet of water on channels and bluffs.  Make sure you've got your jig tip with minnow.  Daylight until about 10:00 a.m. is the best time to find them, but they seem to shut down after that.

Get ready for a big increase in motorcycle riders in town this week.  The BMW Motorcycle Owners of America are holding their 40th International Rally this weekend, July 19 - 22, at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.  The fairgrounds will be hosting an estimated 8500 bikers this weekend, so drive carefully and prepare to see A LOT of bikes around Sedalia throughout the weekend.
