Usually around this time of year you have to search for something cool to do. Well, something warm to do that's fun, I guess I should say. It's been so cold out that nobody really wants to spend a huge amount of time outside. That's why we've got the huge Cabin Fever Sports Show, and it's getting closer by the day.
Teams of three will compete for CASH prizes and the title of Sedalia's Sportsman Champion, at The Sedalia Sportsman Challenge presented by Warsaw Archery. We will start registration at 7am on September 6 at the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club.

Steve Fromholz -- a singer-songwriter who penned songs recorded by Willie Nelson, John Denver, Lyle Lovett and others -- was killed in a freak hunting accident over the weekend. He was an admired Texas artist, named the official poet laureate of the Lone Star State back in 2007.
Over 100,00 less deer were killed in 2013 firearm seasons compared to 2012. In 2012, a grand total of 311,304 were killed in Missouri. In 2013, the total plummeted to just 200,279. These totals are a combination of all the Missouri firearm season.
