If you look forward to the historic double cicada invasion in Missouri, I have great news for you. If you don't, well, you might want to look the other way as there is evidence that the blazing heat in Missouri could actually speed up the activity of these pests.

My dad told me that if you don't like the weather in Missouri, just wait 10 minutes. That has never been more true than this week where heat, tornadoes, snow and wildfires are all possible some on back-to-back days.

If someone asks you how hot Missouri will be, it's best not to answer. I say this because someone did ask meteorologists what Missouri would feel like at the beginning of October and the answer was "Texas". Seriously.

I am guilty of complaining to meteorologists about their weather forecasts much too often. In this case, I will not be complaining. There's a new forecast from the weather experts that predicts Missouri's October isn't gonna feel like October at all.

I've seen many posts being passed around on social media showing many are trying to beat the Missouri heat by putting tents over their air conditioners thinking it will save them money and help their cooling. There is science to prove this is a very bad idea.

I know you're probably thinking more like Margarita, but you should probably avoid that.

We're approaching a notorious anniversary in Missouri weather history. It was the hottest day in the history of the state and I have to wonder if this temperature mark will ever be equaled again.

It's going to get hot late this week in both Missouri and Illinois. The only question at this point is exactly how hot. Near triple-digit temperatures are expected along with storms possible both Thursday and Friday this week.
