Game of the Week

The Smith-Cotton Tigers are heading into week 9 of the football season undefeated with the West Central Conference championship on the line. The Tigers will travel to Kansas City to take on the undefeated K.C. Center Yellowjackets.

This week, the Game of the Week travels to Lafayette County where the Higginsville Huskers will play host to the Boonville Pirates. Higginsville looks to carry the momentum from their week one win against the Concordia Orioles, while Boonville has a lot to prove after a disappointing loss to California.

Join us as we highlight high school football games in the area for our Game of the Week. I will bring you the play-by-play each Friday. We are looking forward to another successful season and wish all the area teams good luck this upcoming season.

Football season rolls on Wednesday night as the #22 Concordia Orioles visit the #2 Tipton Cardinals in a Halloween night playoff match-up.  Concordia and Tipton didn't have any trouble in their first round playoff games. Concordia beat Windsor by a score of 55 to 18. Tipton won 53-0 over Sweet Springs.

As the season winds down, the games become more important for the conference and district standings.  This game will be the most evenly matched game on paper that we have covered this year. Both teams come in at 4-3 overall, both have lost to the same conference opponents, and both average around 30 points per game.

Our Game of the Week will feature the Knob Noster Panthers hosting the Boonville Pirates this evening.
