Fireworks

It’s time for Sedalia to make plans for the 4th of July celebrations again this year, there are two events that will make the planning easier.

A truck carrying fireworks struck a moose on the Trans Canada Highway near Wawa, Ontario on Friday morning. The collision caused the vehicle's fuel tank to rupture and catch fire, and you know what happened next. Setting off fireworks is illegal within the city limits of Sedalia, and the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and Fire Departments urge you not to set off your own fireworks this 4th of July.  They suggest you attend the public display at the Missouri State Fairgrounds instead.  That's good advice.  And like all good pieces of advice, there will be people that won't follow it.  Here are a few tips so

Kids, everybody knows that summer is here.  Although I told you that I pretty much hate the weather this time of year, there is one thing everyone enjoys, even an old curmudgeon like me: fireworks!  We here in Sedalia love a good fireworks show, regardless of the time of year.  Our 4th of July fireworks display is excellent every year.
