Well, I find one way to get closer to where you want to be with that conversation is by sharing little facts about the holiday. You know, simple, yet truthful facts about Veterans Day that will help your kid understand a little better when you go to visit Grandpa.

Food trucks, limousines, skin care, spas, barbers, Miss Pettis County, CATS AND DOGS LIVING TOGETHER, it's gonna be crazy.

YEP, you read that right! Free showers, free washer and dryer, they'll give you a ride, and you get some lunch as well! 

And while I'm not arguing that we could always have more fun stuff to do, particularly for the young people... this weekend, you have no excuse.

Robertsville State Park is located eight miles east of I-44 on Route O, near Robertsville.

But sometimes it's hard to just grind it out and hold on, right? You just need a little something to boost your day and make you smile, right?

I imagine though, that my Dad's Mom would have LOVED this kind of thing.

And who knows, there might be an emergency birthday party! You never know, I'm not here to judge.
