On Oct. 4, 1974, the first-ever Volunteer Jam was held at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville.

Daniels — who died two years ago next Wednesday (July 6) — is buried at a cemetery near his former home in Mount Juliet, Tenn.

The working man's anthem suggests harsh justice.
