You've probably got the gist of what I do around here; I keep the websites updated with community events and charitable efforts. And believe me when I say that Sedalia definitely has a charitable bent. One event that's coming up is a huge benefit for the Center for Human Services and the Children's Therapy Center.

Friday (Oct. 25) marked Jason Aldean's 8th annual Concert for the Cure in New Orleans, and this time, the singer wrote his biggest donation check to date.

KIX 105, 92.3 BOB-FM, Newstalk 1050 KSIS Radio and Socket Voice, Data and Internet hosted their first Trick or Trot for TaTas Halloween 5k and Monster Dash Kids' Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Clover Dell Park in Sedalia, Mo.

We all remember "planking," right? Where you would take a picture of yourself lying flat like a plank in as creative ways as possible. Then there was Tebowing, Owling, and all of those other things. Well now there's a internet photo trend: mamming.

Thursday, I got to head over to Dugan's Paint and Flooring for their third annual Let's Decorate for a Cure. I didn't quite know what to expect since I'd never been out there before. I have to say, I was not only pleasantly surprised, I was blown away by all the amazingness out there.

Kellie Pickler is a true crusader in the fight against breast cancer. Not only did the singer shave her head in a show of solidarity with her friend who is battling the disease and undergoing treatment, which results in hair loss, but the singer also dyed her hair hot pink to show her continued support of breast cancer awareness.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and a pink spotlight is shining on this cause by multiple arms of the entertainment industry. Country quartet Lonestar are doing their part to raise funds and awareness. The band are helping to corral $50,000 for benefit breast cancer research by doing what they do best -- perform.
