Kids, I don't know about you, but as a kid every year our local church would have a Vacation Bible School. It was always a lot of fun for us because sometimes kids you didn't know would go and you'd meet new people.

For those of you who don't know, Vacation Bible School is basically a week-long special event for kids in local church to have a themed bible study.  You meet with other kids and sing songs, play games, and learn a little something.

In our Community Announcements, there have been several different VBS's coming up.  I thought I'd tell you about all the ones I've gotten so far, so if you want to get your kids out there to do something different, check em out!

The Bethany Baptist Church will host their Vacation Bible School – Colossal Coaster World.

It’ll be held from Sunday June 2 through Friday, June 7 at the church, 500 North Park Avenue, in Sedalia.  Colossal Coaster World will challenge kids to face their fears and trust God.  A meal will be served each evening at 5:30 p.m. and classes and activities follow from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.  The VBS is for children aged 5 (or Kindergarten age) through Grade 6.   To enroll, call 660-826-8743 or email  Visit for more information.

The Wesley United Methodist Church invites children from preschool through 5th grade to step up to the Everywhere Fun Fair VBS.

The Vacation Bible School begins June 3 through June 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 1322 West Broadway.  The adventures include great music, super science, cool crafts, global games and more.  To join, call the church office at 660-826-4502.

The Maplewood Church will be hosting their Vacation Bible School.

It'll be covering what it was like for the Apostle Paul on his dangerous journey to share the truth.  There will be games, projects, and food.  It'll be held at the Church, 25396 Highway O with a kick off on June 9. The VBS runs from June 10-14 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  For more information, call 660-827-0532.

The Everywhere Fun Fair will be coming to the Broadway Presbyterian Church.

It’ll be held Sunday through Thursday, June 23-27 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Church, 209 West Broadway.  Children ages preschool through completed 5th grade are invited to attend.  Come explore how children of all cultures can be friends and neighbors.  To register, or for more information, call 826-1708.

Is your group or Church having a Vacation Bible School?  Submit it to us here at the station, and we'll get it on the Community Calendar.
