SFCC’s Golden Gala to Include Auction of Gold Jewelry…and a Puppy!
The State Fair Community College Foundation's Golden Gala is on Saturday, March 30.
"Our tables seat 10 people, tickets sell for $100 per person in attendance," said Mary Treuner, executive director of the SFCC Foundation. "WE are asking for RSVPs by Friday, March 15. "This year we are changing a little bit of our dress attire...we'd like it to be a semi-formal event."
The Golden Gala is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. It will feature cocktails, “golden drinks” and appetizers; dinner at 7 p.m. and a dessert dash; the Diamond Empire Band and dancing; and a live auction. "We have some exciting live auction items, and we're playing on the word 'golden' this year," said Treuner. Some of the auction items include a mixology class for 12 from an instructor with The International Bartending School in Kansas City, a matching gold necklace and bracelet set, donated by Bichsel Jewelry, a customized sign donated by Plasma Works, and an item that isn't typically part of a fundraising auction: "We are going to actually auction off a golden lab puppy. It will be about 10 weeks old. It's being donated by Dr. Kevin Carl. I actually went to see it last weekend, and yes, my heart melted." Note: picture above is not of the actual puppy.
To reserve seats for the Golden Gala, call the foundation at (660) 530-5811 or email Karen Simon. Proceeds from the Golden Gala will go to support State Fair Community College programs and facilities.
