St. Louis Cardinals Announce Theme Nights for 2025
Theme nights have become successfully unique nights at the ballpark in St. Louis, combining fandom of the Cardinals and other brands. The concept (if I remember correctly) started at minor league ballparks and filtered up to the big leagues.
Each season the St. Louis Cardinals have theme nights numbering between a half dozen to twelve each season. Some are successful enough to be brought back every season. Some fade out. Remember John Daly night? No? That’s okay. It was in 2020.
These are the games where fans can dress up cosplay style and there are in between innings tie-ins. Just speculating, but don’t be surprised if eventually a theme night gets big enough that there are team uniform tie ins (MLB would probably have something to say about that). If you purchase a theme night ticket you also get a theme night customized promo item.
For the 2025 season there are ten theme nights. Starting with Peanuts night Monday March 31st against the LA Angels. Wear your Peppermint Patty sandals and good grief yes bring your blanket Linus..(!!!)
Sunday May 4th is obviously Star Wars Day at the ballpark. Of course, the force is with you. You named your first born “Ben” didn’t you? That day the Cardinals play the Mets. Are they the Empire from the Empire state? (That’s probably the Yankees isn’t it.)
Friday May 23rd your “Cheeseburger in Paradise” is at Busch for Margaritaville Night against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Yes, Parrott Heads it’ll be five o’clock all game long.
Pride Night is Friday June 6th when the LA Dodgers come to St. Louis. Ther LGBTQIA+ community, family and allies will make Busch colorful with a Pride Party on the Bud Terrace before the game.
Find your way to Sesame Street, which it turns out borders Busch Stadium downtown Sunday June 8th. Will Big Bird get on the dugout with Fred Bird?? You have to be there when the Cardinals play the Dodgers to find out.
July 11th is a Friday night and a perfect night for Military Appreciation night as the Cardinals highlight our current troops and veterans too. The US Air Force band will play on the Bud Stage and the Cardinals will play Braves.
Which house are you? You know you are house Cardinals! Harry Potter night is Thursday July 24th. Will the golden snitch be caught in the ballpark? Wait—that’s Quidditch. Practice your spell casting so the Cardinals can beat the Padres that night.
For those of you who never tire of Christmas, Christmas in July at the ballpark is on the 27th and means Santa Fred will be at the game. He doesn’t have elves helping him, but he does have Team Fredbird!
Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day is Tuesday September 16th. I don’t know if the Budweiser will be green, or if the Cardinals will bat with shillelaghs. But, here’s to Irish eyes smiling upon the Cardinals when they play the Reds that night.
The lines get blurred Friday September 19th for St. Louis Blues night at the Cardinals game when they play the Brewers. Get ramped up for hockey season at Busch that night and be ready to sing “Country Roads”, or maybe even “Gloria”..(does that still work?)
It’s always a fun time at the Cardinal game. Theme nights just allow for special memories around non-baseball things. Yes, worlds can collide.
