A Slater man was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday night in Saline County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2004 GMC Yukon with a trailer was parked with no lights, partially blocking the eastbound lane of Missouri 240 (one-third mile west of Sparrow Trail) at 8:52 p.m., when an eastbound 2002 Chevy Blazer struck the rear of the Yukon and the towed unit.

59-year-old Brian E. Lunn of Slater was pronounced dead at 10:44 p.m. by Dr. K. Watson at University Hospital in Columbia.

The driver of the Blazer, 19-year-old Jacob R. King of Marshall, was reportedly uninjured.
