The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners made school history, as the cross country program competed at the Richard Clark SBU invitational hosted by Southwest Baptist University on Saturday, Sept. 4 in Bolivar, a first for SFCC.

State Fair Community College was the only non-NCAA Division II team at the event.
The Roadrunners were led by freshman Logan Shaw who covered the four-mile course in 22:52.01, which placed him 57th. Freshman Ethan Montgomery finished in 62nd with a time of 23:02.53. Freshman Ty Lewis finished 70th with a time of 23:42.98. Freshman Ryan Smith placed 75th in a time of 24:22.37.

Roadrunners Head Cross Country Coach Brad Hagedorn was happy with what he saw at the historic event.

“It was a great experience for us for our first collegiate race,” said Hagedorn. “We did not have a complete team due to injury, but we did wonderfully well. We will take this opportunity and make improvements for our next meet in two weeks at Missouri Southern (Joplin).”
