Sedalia’s Weekend Events – Weekend of June 28

Here's a look at all the events for this weekend in our area!

The Benton County 4-H and FFA Youth Fair takes place from Wednesday June 26 through Saturday, June 29.

Here is a general schedule of the events:

Friday, June 28 Beef Show 6:00 p.m.

Saturday June 29  Swine Show 10:00 a.m., Pre-sale Social 5:00 p.m., Auctions (Pie and Livestock) 6:30 p.m.

There will be a Rock and Blues night this Friday.

This will be a fund raiser for the Knob FFA alumni. Several different local musicians are coming. The cost is $5.00 at the door, and all the money goes to FFA alumni. It'll be held at the Knob Noster VFW, 56 SE State Highway D, Knob Noster.

The 4 Paws for Ability Fundraiser in honor of Owen Thomas will take place Saturday, June 29.

It’ll be held at the Dresden School, 22675 Depot Rd and begin at 11:00 a.m., running until 3:00 p.m.  They’ll serve BBQ pork, hot dogs, burgers, BBQ beans, chips, dessert and a drink for $6.  There will be a silent auction, crafts, Snap! Photo Booth, and a bounce house.  All proceeds go to 4 Paws for Ability in honor of Owen Thomas.

The Lamine Community Club will hold it’s annual ice cream social.

It’ll be held on Saturday, June 29 at the Community Center. The Center is located 3.5 miles northwest of Clifton City at the junction of Highway JJ and Swinging Bridge Drive.  They’ll serve sandwiches, drinks and ice cream and that’ll begin at 5:30 p.m.

The St John the Evangelist Church will host an Ice Cream Social.

It’ll take place at the church, located in Bahner.  They meet at 6:00 p.m. for an evening of bingo, a country store, quilt drawing, food, fun and games.  St John the Evangelist is located 8  miles south on Highway 65 and 8 miles east on Route V.

The Sedalia Area Habitat for Humanity is looking for families who meet the criteria needed to receive a home built by the group.

At the meeting they will explain the selection process and have applications available.  They’ll have their first meeting on Sunday evening, June 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at 6th and Lamine.  Use the East Entrance.  For more information, visit www.habitat.org or call 660-826-1918.
