Sedalia TIP-A-COP Event to Benefit Special Olympics

Members of the Sedalia Police Department will partner with the local Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar on Thursday, July 13th, for the TIP A COP event to benefit Special Olympic Athletes.

According to the City of Sedalia newsletter, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., local patrons can enjoy a good meal, help a great cause, and say hello to members of the Sedalia Police Department, as they help to serve meals for the evening.

The tips received during that time period will help to maintain year-round sporting events for the Central Area Special Olympic athletes.

Besides the tips collected, there will also be Torch Run t-shirts and 'Drive It Home' tickets. A press release from the SPD, says that one person will win a 2017 Honda Pilot Elite.

The goal is to promote acceptance and inclusion of all people with intellectual disabilities, through 21 sporting events throughout Missouri.
