Sedalia Police Reports For May 6, 2022

Thursday night, Officers performed a traffic stop on a Ford passenger car, as the vehicle did not have a front license plate. The traffic stop took place in the area of the 2100 block of South Limit Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver and a single occupant. Investigation revealed the driver was in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia. Mason Alexander Comfort, 18, of Green Ridge, was issued a municipal citation for Possession of Marijuana with a court date.
Early Friday morning, an investigative stop was made in the 1800 block of South Warren Avenue for a female suspect that had no license and a Sedalia warrant. The driver, who Officers recognized to be the suspect, jumped out of the car. She walked away, ignoring Police commands, and resisted arrest. A search of the car revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mattie L. Hood, 30, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Hood was place on a 24 hour hold for state charges of misdemeanor Resisting Arrest, Driving Without A Valid License, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Hood was also booked in on the $60 cash only Sedalia warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without A Valid License.
Thursday night, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a report of a cat bite. The bite happened approximately 35 hours earlier in the 1000 block of South Arlington Avenue. Destiny Vallejos sustained puncture marks and the wound location started swelling up. A report was made documenting the incident.
Sedalia Police responded to the Cenex Plaza 16, 120 East 16th Street, for a report of a male lying on the ground and grabbing customers Thursday evening. Upon arrival, the male was still lying on the ground, sleeping. Officers identified the subject, and it was determined he had a warrant for his arrest out of Stone County Missouri on charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Tampering With a Victim or Witness. Radgie W. King, 45, of Joplin, was arrested on his warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $2500 cash or surety bond.
Thursday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West 10th Street in reference to a full order of protection violation. Upon arrival, Officers spoke to both parties. One subject had an active and confirmed full order of protection against the other. William WC Long III, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested for the violation and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Long was placed on a 24 hour hold with bond and court dates to be determined.
In the early morning hours of May 2nd, Officers performed a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet, as the vehicle did not have a front license plate. The traffic stop took place in the area of South Osage Avenue and West 16th Street. Officers spoke to the driver and performed a computer check through Dispatch. The driver was discovered to have a suspended driver's license. William Michael Chapman, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested but released on the scene with a citation for Driving While Suspended.
Thursday morning, Officers responded to the 300 block of West Henry Street for a domestic situation. When Officers arrived, contact was made with a subject. After identifying him and checking his information, it was discovered he had an active warrant from Pettis County for Stealing and Resisting Arrest. Thomas ND West, 27, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing on the warrant and pending a $1500 cash or surety bond.
Officers performed an investigative traffic stop on a gray Nissan SUV Thursday evening, as the registered owner of the vehicle showed to have a suspended driver's license. The traffic stop took place in the area of West Main Street and South Park Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver and performed a computer check through Dispatch. The driver's suspended status was confirmed, and the driver was aware of her suspended status. Bridgett M. Satrang, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested but released on the scene with a citation for Driving While Suspended.
Thursday morning, Officers responded to the MC Power Companies, 101 Thompson Road, in reference to a stolen vehicle. A van belonging to the business was stolen in the overnight hours. The vehicle was later recovered near the 2600 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The Catalytic Converter had been removed from the vehicle. No suspects have been identified at this time.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Katy Trail rest area, 2600 Clarendon Road Thursday afternoon to check on the well being of a subject laying on the ground next to a grocery cart. When Officers arrived, they made contact with the woman. She was laying on a picnic table next to a grocery cart. She stated she was homeless and was just resting. When Officers checked her name with Dispatch, it was confirmed she had a felony Pettis County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Rebecca S. Eidson, 59, Homeless, was arrested on the warrant pending a $7500 cash or surety bond.
Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a hit and run accident that occurred on East Broadway Boulevard near South Engineer Avenue. The reporting party stated she was eastbound on East Broadway Boulevard, stopped at the traffic light, when her vehicle was struck from behind. The suspect vehicle left the scene of the crash. The suspect vehicle was later located. It was discovered to have been operated by a juvenile driver at the time of the crash. There were no reported injuries. The case will be referred to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.
Thursday morning, Officers met with a subject in the Police Station in regards to a stolen vehicle case from September of 2021. Tammy J. Reed, 53, of California, was arrested for Stealing a Motor Vehicle and Forgery. Reed was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked. Reed was placed on a 24 hour hold with bond and court date to be determined.
