Sedalia Police Reports For May 3, 2021

Early Monday morning, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of East 16th Street and South Thompson Avenue. Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle was determined to not have a license. Emilio Ax Xol, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving Without a Valid License and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. Xol was processed and then released with a municipal court date.

Sunday morning, Officers responded to the parking lot of the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a subject check. An Officer made contact with a subject in a vehicle. The vehicle information was run through Dispatch, who confirmed the vehicle was stolen. The subject's information was run and the subject was confirmed to four Failure to Appear warrants out of Sedalia on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility (two counts) and Expired Plates (two counts). A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Lindsey R. Adams, 32, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24 hour hold. Charges of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia will be submitted to the prosecutor.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Quincy in reference to a disturbance early Monday morning. Investigation on the scene revealed the nature of the call was a burglary. The suspect forced entry into the front door of the home and then assaulted the resident. Gary D. Horn, 36, of Green Ridge, was arrested for Burglary in the 1st Degree, Aggravated Assault in the 3rd Degree, Property Damage in the 1st Degree, and Violation of a Full Order of Protection. Horn was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold.

Saturday evening, Officers responded to the Smart Styles Hair Salon, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a possible theft report. Officers made contact with the management of the business, who explained the suspect, who was on scene, was unable to pay for $297.67 in services. The business wished to pursue charges. Ladonna M Wollard, 20, of Sedalia, was issued a city summons for Stealing with a court date.

Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop Sunday morning for improper registration and no tail lights where the driver continued driving. The vehicle eventually pulled into the Cenex parking lot at 120 East 16th street. The driver was found to have a revoked driving license. The driver was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamines. William E. Lucas, 48, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of charges for Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Driving While Suspended, and Resisting Arrest.

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1900 South Stewart Avenue for a report of a theft. Robert J. Gard reported someone had stolen his lawn mower out of his back yard sometime over the weekend.

Sedalia Police observed a motor vehicle driving east on West Third Monday morning. Officers recognized the driver and a check through Dispatch showed she had three active Pettis County warrants for Failure to Appear on original charges of Identity Theft, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cassie M. Clemons, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on her warrants, with bond totaling $750.00 cash only.

Early Sunday morning, Officers responded to the 1500 block of South Grand Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers were informed that the suspect had assaulted his wife and fled the scene. The victim sustained a minor injury and was not medically treated. The incident is still under investigation.

Officers initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle was improper registration early Monday morning in the area of the 100 block of South Washington. The driver, a minor, consented to a search of the vehicle. An unopened intoxicant container was found and seized for destruction. No charges were sought for the violation.

Saturday evening, a theft was reported in the Sedalia Police Department lobby. The complainant stated two subjects stole multiple sets of Magic Cards worth $399.78 from the Wal Mart Store, 3201 West Broadway the previous Thursday. Both subjects were identified during the investigation. One suspect, Jamar N. Clark, 17 of Sedalia, was arrested for Stealing and released on a municipal summons with a court date.

Sunday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Headquarters to speak with a subject who was paid with a counterfeit $10 bill. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Jennifer Musgrave. She stated she worked for ETS Taxi and picked up a fare at the Westlake's store, 1010 Thompson Boulevard earlier that day. She transported him to the east side of Sedalia. The suspect reportedly paid her with a counterfeit $10 bill and left. The suspect was described as a short white male with a bald head and a beard, tattoos on his arms and a brace on his left arm. At the time of the report, the suspect had not been located. The counterfeit money was placed into evidence storage.

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of East 10th in regard to a domestic assault which had just occurred on Saturday morning. Both parties attacked the other, though only one had injuries, resulting in the other being considered the primary aggressor. Shuntell K. Douglas, 39, of Sedalia, arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24 hour hold for Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree.

On the afternoon of April 27th, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Broadway Boulevard. It was reported a door was kicked in by the neighbor. Officers investigated the incident and determined there was an on going issue over city owned trash cans. Officers found a neighbor got upset regarding the trash can dispute, striking or kicking the neighbor's door, damaging it. Gavin Joseph Morris, 18, of Sedalia, was cited for Destruction of Non City Property. Morris was advised to call the city and obtain a new trash can as explained in a prior incident, as it would resolve the issue.

Saturday morning, David Joe Bennett reported to the Sedalia Police Department that someone stole medication, money and a cell phone from him sometime overnight in the 100 block of East 16th Street. At the time of the report, there was no suspect information.

Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of McAnally Court for a check on a subject's well being Saturday morning. On arrival, the subject appeared to be non responsive through a window. Officers were unable to wake the subject and entry was forced through the front window. PCAD responded to the scene and transported the subject to the Bothwell Hospital.

Sunday morning, Officers contacted a suspect in the area of West 17th Street and South Ohio Avenue. The suspect had an active felony warrant for Robbery in the 2nd Degree out of Pettis County. Deandre A. Laney, 24, of Sedalia, was contacted and placed into handcuffs. Incident to arrest, Officers located a methamphetamine pipe and a marijuana pipe on his person. The warrant was confirmed a short time later. Laney was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending the filing of charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Robbery in the 2nd Degree with a bond set at $40,000 cash or surety.

On the afternoon of April 30th, Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a black Kia Sportage SUV for an equipment violation in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Emmet Avenue. Officers made contact with the suspect, who consented to a search of his person and the vehicle. Officers located a clear plastic baggie inside the suspect's pants pockets with visible white residue. The suspect was detained and he admitted to having marijuana inside the driver's door. Officers located the bag of marijuana. The vehicle was searched and a glass marijuana pipe was also located in the rear of the vehicle. The suspect claimed ownership of the items inside the vehicle. Blake A. Hollon, 22, of Marshall, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Hollon was booked and released pending the filing of state charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Saturday morning, Officers responded to the McDonald's restaurant, 1611 South Limit Avenue, for a disturbance with weapons. On arrival, Officers met with Valerie K. Gallup, who said a gun was pulled after a verbal disturbance in the parking lot. The suspect and vehicle left the area. No charges are being sought by the victim and the vehicle was not located. A report was completed for documentation purposes.

Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Stacey Lane in regard to a burglary in progress Sunday morning. Upon Officer's arrival, damage was observed to a storm door and the patio door, where the suspect attempted to make entry into the home. The victim was also able to show Officers text messages the suspect had sent them, indicating their intent to break in. The suspect caused approximately $1520 in damage while trying to enter the home. Cristian Rodriguez, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold for Attempted Burglary in the 1st Degree, and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree.

Saturday afternoon, a vehicle stop was conducted at East 16th Street and South New York Avenue for exceeding the posted speed limit. The operator was found to have no driver's license. Misael Tello Cano, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested without incident and released from the police station on citations for Speeding and Driving Without a License.

Officers and EMS were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Osage Avenue Saturday morning for a subject having a medical episode. The subject in question refused transport by EMS but did go by personal vehicle to a local hospital.

Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on the 200 block of South Grand Avenue for failure to display license plates. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested for two probation violation traffic warrants which totaled $100 cash only. Carol P. Schnirch, 24, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County jail and turned over to jail staff.

Saturday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West Johnson Street in reference to a theft that had occurred on April 28th. Jandera E. Griffith reported a cell phone that was left at Hubbard Park was not in the same place it was left.

Saturday evening, Officers responded to the Centennial Park, 1500 East 16th Street, in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke to the caller, who stated an older male was following her children around and trying to take pictures of them. Officers made contact with Steven P. Davidson, 65, Homeless, and arrested him for Harassment (To Frighten or Disturb Another Person). Davidson was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond to be determined.

Sedalia Police responded to the 200 block of East Tower for a possible disturbance Saturday night. Officers made contact with the victims and suspect. A primary physical aggressor was identified and arrested. Emily Elizabeth Brackett, 21, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked on charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Brackett was held on a 24 hour hold. Charges were later submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office for Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree.

Sunday evening Officers responded near West 11th Street and South Limit Avenue for a possible injury crash. Contact was made with the driver of one of the vehicles. Synthetic marijuana and paraphernalia were seen in the vehicle. The synthetic marijuana and paraphernalia were seized for destruction. No charges were sought.

Early Sunday morning, a Jeep was stopped in the area of West 32nd Street and Erika Avenue for moving violation and suspicion of impaired driving. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Omar Lemus Rodriguez, 22, of La Monte, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Sedalia Police Department for further testing. Rodriguez was then released to a sober person with a citation for Driving While Intoxicated and a court date.

Early Saturday morning, Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a car at South Sneed Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard for an improper turn and failing to maintain its lane. A warrant check of an occupant revealed he had a $7,500 cash or surety bond Pettis County felony warrant. The occupant was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Wraymond J. Merriott, Jr., 52 of Sedalia, was transported to the hospital for a fit for confinement check. Merriott was deemed fit for confinement, and was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24 hour hold on felony Possession of Methamphetamine. Merriott was booked in on felony Failure to Appear warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Receiving Stolen Property, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Saturday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for not displaying a front license plate. A check through Dispatch showed the driver was revoked. Thomas Mark Krumroy, 55, of Sedalia, was arrested, transported and released from the Police Department with a city ticket for Driving While Revoked.

On the night of April 30th, Sedalia Police observed a car failing to maintain its lane with expired license plates. Officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver and occupants were in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on a 24 hour hold. Veronica L. Simons, 22, of Mora, was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a License, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Eric Wayne Brown, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of A Dangerous Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Last Friday morning, Officers took a report from Carol Dobbs in regards to a theft that occurred in the 900 block of West 5th. Dobbs stated she had fallen for a scam in which the suspect is using her identity to attempt to get a loan.

Officers responded to the 1800 block of East 6th Friday evening for a report of property damage. James Blacklock said one of his vehicle windows had been damaged. There was observable damage to the window and Blacklock wished to pursue charges.

Sedalia Police responded to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of at theft Friday evening. Wal Mart Asset Protection had caught a suspect stealing $103.15 worth of merchandise. Asset Protection informed Officers of the suspect's actions. Julie K. Herbst, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested for Stealing/Shoplifting and released with a summons and a court date.

Early Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Kehde's restaurant, 1915 South Limit Avenue, for a report of a stolen vehicle. When Officers arrived, they spoke to Tabitha A. Kehde. Kehde stated that sometime earlier that morning, someone stole her black 2005 Toyota 4 Runner SUV from her address in the 1600 block of West 11th Street. The vehicle was valued at $10,000. There were reportedly 25 silver quarters inside the vehicle with an estimated value of $125 and other miscellaneous items valued at $60. A copy of the report was sent to Dispatch. There are no suspects at this time.
