On May 7th, a victim reported to the Sedalia Police Department that their debit card had been stolen and used at two local businesses. Through investigation, Officers were able to identify the suspect who had stolen and used the card. On May 18th, the suspect was arrested in the 1700 block of West 16th Street. Amanda Lee Burns, 39, of Sedalia, was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released pending the filing of formal charges of Stealing and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device.


 

Early Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Westwood Avenue for a domestic disturbance. The victim stated that her live in boyfriend punched her in the face a total of three times because she would not take him out to get food after a night of drinking. Lucas R. Franklin, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24 hour hold pending charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree.


 

Wednesday evening, Officers responded near the 100 block of East Jackson for a civil standby. The mother of a juvenile wished to report her daughter missing. She last saw her daughter at the residence, and her daughter said she was going to leave, and she left with her friends. Nicole Marbut had a missing persons report completed on the daughter.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of West 3rd Street for a possible burglary Wednesday night. Officers made contact with Mose Watson, who said someone forced entry into his home and stole money. Watson had no suspect information and wished to pursue charges for Burglary in the 2nd Degree and felony Stealing.


 

Wednesday night, a wanted subject was contacted in the parking lot of a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The subject was fully identified and a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Defective Equipment was confirmed. Susan D. McNeal, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where bond on the warrant was set at $165 cash.


 

Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of Winchester Road and West Broadway Boulevard late Wednesday night. The driver had a Failure to Appear warrant out of Pettis County on an original charge of Animal At Large. Abraham Fernando, 20, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail and turned over to jail staff with a $200 cash only bond.
