Early Monday morning, Sedalia Police responded to the 1200 block of South Park for a missing persons report.  Officers made contact with Shannon Newton, who reported a runaway juvenile.


 

Sunday morning, Officers observed a motor vehicle driving in a suspicious manner near North Harding and East Boonville Street. When Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it did not immediately yield. The vehicle yielded near East Boonville Street and North Heard Avenue.  Officers performed field sobriety tests on the subject and marijuana was found on his person.  A search of the vehicle found a controlled substance and alcohol. The driver had no valid license and was a minor. Tristen M A Fiedler, 17, of Sedalia, was arrested, transported and booked into the Pettis County Jail on charges of Minor In Possession of Alcohol, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a License. Fiedler was placed on a 24 hour hold, pending charges.


 

Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a car for not having a front license plate at North Engineer Avenue and East Saline Avenue Sunday night. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired by drugs, in possession of marijuana, driving without a license and had no insurance. Chelsea Dawn Moore, 21, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest, then transported to a hospital. Moore was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on state charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), Driving Without a Valid License, and Possession of Marijuana.  Officers are also requesting a charge of No Proof of Financial Responsibility pending release to a sober person.


 

Sunday night, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of West 14th Street and South Carr Avenue. Following an investigation at the scene, the driver was arrested on a Johnson County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Revoked. Beth A. Goodfield, 42, of Green Ridge, was booked on charges of Driving While Revoked, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, and the Failure to Appear Warrant.  Bond on the Johnson County warrant was set at $500 cash and Goodfield was released at the jail on the new charges. The passenger in the vehicle, Sugar R. Collins, 39, of Clinton, was found to be in possession of marijuana.  Collins was issued a municipal summons for Possession of Marijuana and released at the scene.


 

Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car for speeding Sunday morning in the area of West 7th Street and South Grand Avenue.  After an investigation, the plates were seized to be returned to DOR because they belonged to the previous owner of the vehicle.  A small amount of marijuana was seized for destruction.  An open title was also filled out and signed prior to the driver being released.


 

Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop at East 3rd Street and South Engineer Avenue Sunday evening on a stolen car after a wanted check revealed it was stolen.  After an investigation, it was determined that the previous owner did not call to report that the car was no longer stolen.  Three license plates were seized that did not belong to the driver/new owner. A small amount of marijuana was seized, along with an open container.  The driver/new owner was released with no charges.


 

Sunday evening, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of South Missouri Avenue and West 7th Street.  Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a License.  Jireth A. Orellana Castro, 17, of Sedalia, was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, processed and released with a court date.


 

Sunday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 700 block of West 3rd Street in regard to a hit and run accident which had occurred overnight.  The vehicle was parked on the street around midnight and when it was next seen the next morning, significant damage was found on the vehicle.  There is no suspect information at this time.


 

On the afternoon of April 12th, James Barnes came to the Police Department to report a theft from the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. Barnes reported a fraudulent return that had occurred on March 22nd.  A suspect has been identified.  Barnes reported another fraudulent return that occurred on April 12th.  Barnes stated he had tried to stop the suspect, who failed to comply and left in a vehicle.  A suspect has been identified.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a gold Kia Sportage in the area of East 3rd Street and South Brown Avenue. Officers made contact with the occupants and ran their information through Dispatch.  Dispatch advised the passenger had a warrant of Pettis County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Larceny.  Stephanie Elaine Buckner, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond set at $250 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police observed a silver Chevrolet vehicle with expired registration in the 500 block of East 2nd Street and initiated a traffic stop.  The suspect exited the vehicle and was given orders to get back into the vehicle. The suspect failed to obey and ran on foot from the vehicle. The suspect dropped a bag on the ground while running. Officers took custody of the bag. It was later determined the suspect ran into a house close to the area of the stop. A short time later, the suspect attempted to run out of the front door.  Officers took the suspect, Shawna C. Cochran, 28, of Sedalia,  into custody.  After further investigation, methamphetamine, marijuana, and other related paraphernalia were located inside the bag Cochran dropped.  Cochran was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, felony Resisting Arrest, two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.


 

Saturday evening, Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop on a silver BMW passenger car, as Officers knew the driver had a suspended driver's license. The traffic stop took place in the area of South Limit Avenue and West 4th Street. Officers spoke with the driver and a single occupant, and then performed a computer check through Dispatch to confirm the driver's status.  James Marlon Curd, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released with a court date to be determined.


 

Officers performed a traffic stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Drive Saturday evening for an equipment violation. During the contact, the driver of the vehicle was found to be driving on a revoked license. Elios Leija Murillo, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he was processed and released with a court date.


 

Early Saturday morning, a car was reportedly all over the roadway, driving northbound in the southbound lane, striking curbs, striking medians, and speeding.  The car was stopped in the area of West 16th Street and South Limit Avenue. The driver was highly intoxicated. Antonio T. Gray, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested, transported to a hospital, and then the Pettis County Jail.  Gray was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Revoked, Driving Without a Valid License, and Failing to Comply with an Interlock Device.


 

Sunday night, an Officer observed a motor vehicle fail to use its turn signal when changing lanes.  The Officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle near East Broadway Boulevard and South New York  Avenue. The Officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle.  The vehicle was searched, and marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.  No charges were sought for the marijuana or the paraphernalia.


 

Sunday night, Officers responded near East 5th Street and South Emmett Avenue for a report of an injured dog.  Upon arrival, it was determined that the dog's injuries were severe. The dog was dispatched by Officers on the scene and taken to the Sedalia Animal Shelter.


 

Saturday night, Officers responded to the 200 block of South Moniteau Avenue for a possible disturbance. Officers gained consent to search the home and found no evidence of domestic violence.  A marijuana bong was seen while searching the house, and was seized for destruction. No charges were pursued for the drug paraphernalia.


 

An Officer responded to the Police Station lobby to speak to someone regarding a missing person Saturday night.  The subject stated that a juvenile ran away from the facility she works at in the 1900 block of South Ingram Avenue. At this time, the juvenile has not been located.  No foul play is suspected.


 

On the afternoon of April 13th, an employee with the Department of Health and Senior Services was doing an investigation in the 900 block of Mitchell Drive when she was assaulted by another individual. Sedalia Police investigated the incident and determined that there had been an altercation.  Neither party had injuries, but the victim did want to pursue criminal charges. Carla C. Blazier, 58, of Sedalia, was issued a citation for Municipal Assault and given a court date.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the American Auto Rental, 2101 South Limit Avenue last Tuesday morning for a failure to return a rental vehicle report. On arrival, Officers made contact with the business owner, Terry Arnold. Arnold stated he rented a silver 2011 Chevrolet Impala on March 19th that was to be returned on March 25th. At the time of the report, the vehicle has not been returned.  A vehicle value of $8,000 was provided by the business.  State charges of Failure to Return Rental Property and Stealing a Motor Vehicle are being requested to the prosecutor.

Saturday morning, damage to a city owned fire hydrant located at East 3rd Street and South Brown Avenue was reported to the Sedalia Police. An investigation revealed a motor vehicle had struck the hydrant before departing the scene. A records check revealed the operator of the motor vehicle failed to report the accident to the Police Department. According to a resident in the area, the accident is alleged to have occurred on the evening of April 16th.  The value of the damage to the hydrant could be approximately $2,500.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of East 5th Street and South Ohio Avenue Saturday morning in regard to a suspicious subject knocking on the doors of various businesses.  Officers made contact with the subject in question near the intersection of East 5th Street and South Lamine.  In the course of a search of the subject's person, a syringe was found.  A field test found traces of methamphetamine present. Ian M. Pennington, 22, Homeless, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail.  Once there, two baggies of methamphetamine were also found on the subject. The following charges are being requested: Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Introducing Drugs into a County Jail.


 

Friday afternoon, Justin Halgren reported two hunting bows missing or stolen from his home in the 400 block of East 3rd Street.  Halgren valued the items at $450.  At the time of the report, there was no suspect information.


 

Last Tuesday afternoon, Crystal Johnson reported her residence had been entered without permission and items stolen in the 1000 block of Broadway Boulevard. Johnson valued the theft amount to be about $300.  Later that same day, Johnson contacted a person of interest and one of the items stolen was recovered. An investigation by the Sedalia Police Department determined the suspect to be a juvenile. A juvenile referral is being submitted to the Pettis County Juvenile Office for Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Stealing.


 

Friday evening, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for no front or rear license plates.  Officers gained consent from the driver to search the vehicle. A search found marijuana paraphernalia. A verbal warning was given for the paraphernalia and plate violation.


 

Friday evening, Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 15th Street for a report of harassment. Officers made contact with Aullnie Colvin, and were shown Face Book messages that the victim found offensive. Colvin wished to pursue charges. Charges were later submitted to the prosecutor's office for Harassment in the 1st Degree.


 

Sedalia Police stopped an SUV in the area of West Saline and North Summit Avenue Friday night for a moving violation. A warrant check of the driver revealed she had a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Driving Without a Valid License.  Nashlene Meseky, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on the warrant, bond set at $2,500 cash or surety.


 

Early Saturday morning, Officers performed a traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet passenger car, as the vehicle did not have a front license plate. The traffic stop took place in the area of West 7th Street and South Missouri Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver and two occupants, and then performed a computer check through Dispatch, whereupon it was learned the driver had a suspended license. Catherine Marie Enriquez, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department where she was fingerprinted, photographed and released with a court date.


 

On the afternoon of April 13th, Officers responded to the Police Station lobby, 300 West 3rd Street, for a harassment report. On arrival, Officers spoke with Norman W. Zinck, who stated someone has been making harassing phone calls to a local business.  No charges are being requested.  A report was made for documentation purposes.


 

Last Tuesday evening, Sedalia Police were dispatched to a hit and run accident that occurred in the area of West 7th Street and South Grand Avenue. Patricia Carlock reported that a male subject in a black sports car left the scene after colliding with her vehicle.  Carlock stated that the suspect got out and asked if she was okay, then left heading west on 7th Street. There are no suspects at the time of the report.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Grand in reference to a disturbance last Tuesday afternoon.  Contact was made with both suspects, who admitted to being in altercation that was physical. Both parties admitted to pushing one another. The primary physical aggressor could not be determined, and neither party wished to prosecute. Both parties agreed to separate, and were advised that a 12 hour log would be completed.


 

Last Monday afternoon, Officers were flagged down in the area of East Harvey Street and Depp.  Rowdy Wormsley reported that he had been assaulted at a residence.  Wormsley had a bloody nose from being punched in the face.  The suspect was in the area when Officers arrived.  She entered the backyard of a residence. The resident was uncooperative and refused to let Officers check for the suspect. The case will be forwarded to the Pettis County prosecutor's office.  Charges of Assault in the 3rd Degree are being sought.


 

On the morning of April 13th, Sedalia Police responded to the 200 block of South Ohio Avenue for an assist agency call.  On arrival, Officers met with the Children's Division, who was doing a child supervision investigation. An assist agency report  was completed regarding the incident.


 

Last Monday evening, Officers responded to the 300 block of West 7th Street in reference to a disturbance. Contact was made with the resident, who reported being assaulted by the suspect. It was determined that the suspect had assaulted another female who has a child in common with him. In the course of the incident, the female was holding the small child. The suspect attempted to take the child from the female.  The female refused to let the suspect take the child, as she feared he would not return the child to her.  The child had visible injuries to its back. The suspect was not present at the scene.  Officers contacted the Pettis County Sherriff's office, who located him at an address in Pettis County.  Officers advised there was  probable cause for an arrest. Pettis County Deputies arrested John W. McCammon, 45, of Sedalia. Deputies transported McCammon to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of state charges.  Charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree, Assault in the 4th Degree, and Child Endangerment in the 2nd Degree are being sought.
