The suspect was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. The following charges were requested:

Tanner J. Leary (age 21 of Sedalia)
- Stealing - Felony
- Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device - Felony
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (Knuckles)

"Please remember to lock your vehicles," Sedalia Police said in a facebook post. "Also be sure to remove any valuable items from your vehicle. Items commonly stolen from vehicles include money/change, firearms, electronics, GPS devices, credit cards, etc. The vast majority of vehicles are unlocked when these thefts occur. If you are the victim of someone stealing from your vehicle, please make a police report. Often times the suspect is arrested with random items that we believe to be stolen from vehicles, but we have no reports to connect the items to. Thank you!"
