The Sedalia Fire Department held a ground breaking ceremony at 2606 West 16th this afternoon (Dec. 18).  The site marks the location of the new department headquarters and training facility to be built over the next year.

More than a hundred people attended the ceremony, which was preceded by speeches from Chief Mike Ditzfeld, Assistant Chief Greg Harrell, Mayor Elaine Horn, Dennis Paul of Septegon Industries, Missouri State Senator Mike Parsons, Missouri State representative Stanley Cox, and the Adjutant General of the Missouri National Guard, and Major General Steven Danner.
