Sedalia Announces 2024 Christmas Light Contest

The City of Sedalia has announced its 2024 Christmas Light Contest.

The 44th annual contest offers $100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place.

Applications are being accepted now through noon on Monday, Dec. 8. Judging will be based on lighting eye appeal, originality and overall appeal.

Judging for the contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10.

The complete display is to remain in place throughout the Christmas holiday season, it was noted, and the contest is limited to those inside the city limits of Sedalia. City employees are not eligible to participate.
