Third Week of HS Football Games Around the Area
Smith Cotton lost to Battle last week on senior night, 61-21. The Tigers gained 270 yards compared to 326 total yards for the Spartans. The Tigers outran the Spartans on the ground with 233 yards compared to the Spartans’ 166.
Cameron Finley led the Smith-Cotton offense with 170 rushing yards on 21 carries and 3 touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, the defense for the Tigers was led by Camden Gear’s 6 ½ tackles. Everett Wood made 3.5, one of those causing a loss of yardage for Battle, and Christian Finley wound up with four for the evening.
Smith-Cotton players are being asked to do more than just recover from a 61-21 home loss to Battle.
Sedalia’s Tigers are being asked to win back the Silver Tiger Trophy tonight as visiting challengers at UCM.
