Smith-Cotton High School senior Juan Herrera has committed to run cross country and track at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.

Over his S-C Tigers career, Herrera, the son of Jose Luis Herrera and Paula Aguilar, has been a four-year letter winner in cross country and three-time letter winner to date in track. He is a member of the S-C Track Team Leadership Council and has posted personal best times of 5:00 in the 1,600 meters; 11:18 in the 3,200 meters; and 18:15 in the cross country 5K event.

S-C Cross Country Head Coach Tara Clark said: “It makes me so happy to see that Juan will be able to continue his running career. From fighting back after a knee injury his sophomore year, I'm glad that he will be able to push himself towards his goals.”
