Rob’s Off the Trail Tracks: Blake Shelton’s “I Still Got a Finger”
Well, I made it another week without being fired, so here's another Off the Trail Track for you. Every week we’ll select an album and showcase a song from it that you’re unlikely to hear on the radio any time soon, and give you the chance to listen to it here on our website. This week we're featuring Blake Shelton's "I Still Got a Finger" from his album 'Based on a True Story.'
Blake is one of the biggest names in country music right now. He represents country music on the hit show 'The Voice,' was named the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, and his latest album "Based on a True Story" was the CMA's Album of the Year. You've doubtless heard several songs from the album already, like "Boys Round Here" and "Sure Be Cool if You Did," and the latest single "Mine Would Be You" is currently the number two most downloaded country song on iTunes.
Unless you actually own the CD, you probably won't here "Still Got a Finger". It's a great song about flipping someone the bird when you're just fed up. Reminds me a lot of Johnny Paycheck's classic "Take This Job and Shove It". However I think it might be a little rough for radio play, and features a few not-so-FCC-friendly words.
So you'll have to listen below and let us know what you think in the comments!
