The Sedalia Salvation Army needs your help this Christmas season so they can continue to help others.

The need for bell ringers to help the Sedalia Salvation Army this year is greater than ever due to COVID-19. Additionally, the Sedalia Salvation Army has seen an increase in those needing assistance this Christmas, as well as a need for other services the group provides throughout the year.

They need the community's help to meet those needs by having volunteers sign up to be a bell ringer. The Salvation Army's Megan Hudson says "even ringing a bell for an hour can make a huge difference."

The Salvation Army's bell ringing season begins this Friday, November 27, and runs through Christmas Eve, December 24. The Sedalia Salvation Army needs bell ringers at JC Penny's, West Woods Supermarket, East Woods Supermarket, and both doors of the Sedalia Walmart. The group would like to have bell ringers present from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM CST Monday - Saturday at all these locations. Time slots are divided into hour increments, but volunteers are encouraged to work as many hours as they are willing.

If you'd like to volunteer to ring a bell or find out more information contact the Salvation Army at 826 -1525. All funds raised will be used in Pettis County for Christmas Assistance 2020 and programs / social services for 2021. Bell ringers are required to wear a face mask and gloves while ringing.
