Police say a corrections officer at the Pettis County Jail discovered a pipe and a baggie containing what appeared to be methamphetamine on a 22-year-old Sedalia man who was arrested Wednesday.

Officers were called around 4:15 p.m. to McAnally Ct. for a report of a suspicious acting suspect in the area. Police found Joshua R. Phillips, and discovered he had a felony Pettis County warrant. Phillips was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where a corrections officer conducted a search and reportedly discovered the contraband.

Phillips was placed on a 24-hour hold for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and introduction of a controlled substance into a jail or correctional facility.
