Plenty of Fairs Leading Up to the Missouri State Fair
If you're feeling you need a little warm-up to the 2021 Missouri State Fair in Sedalia from August 12-22, we've got some locations to check out across the Show-Me State to quench your appetite!
Going on Tuesday, July 27 through Saturday July 31 is the St. Charles County Fair at Rotary park in Wentzville. The five-day fair will include Tractor Pulls, 4-H and FFA Exhibits, Kids Games, Queen Contest, Petting Zoo, Live Entertainment, and so much more.
Also starting Tuesday, July 27 is the Gasconade County Fair in Owensville. The theme for this year's fair is "Celebrating Missouri's Bicentennial at the Fair." The fair runs through Saturday, July 31. A large livestock show, 4-H, and other competitive exhibits will fill the fairgrounds along with musical entertainment that includes the Roots & Boots Tour featuring Collin Raye, Aaron Tippin, and Sammy Kershaw on Friday night, July 30. On Saturday night, July 30 it will be Craig Morgan.
Getting into August you'll find the Washington Town & Country Fair from the 4th-8th in Washington, MO. Some of the contests that you'll want to participate in include the Bubble Gum Blowing Contest, Doughnut on a String Eating Contest, and the Adult Super Farmer Contest. Musical entertainment will be found at the fair with such artists as the southern rock band, 38 Special, on Thursday August 5. Country artist Justin Moore will be on stage on Friday, July 6, and if you're want to rock out the evening on Saturday July 7, have they got a band for you! ZZ Top will perform that evening.
A couple more fairs take place before the Missouri Sate Fair. The Howard County Fair in Fayette takes place August 10-1, and in Lawrence County, Howdy Neighbor Days run August 11-14 in Pierce City.
