Thursday evening, while on patrol in the area of B Highway and 127 Highway, Pettis County Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a gray colored Nissan passenger car because it didn't have any license plates displayed. Deputies passed the driver's information through Dispatch, and were advised the driver's Missouri license was currently suspended. The vehicle was moved to a safe location off the roadway and secured. The driver, who was not named in the report, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. The unnamed driver was booked and released with a court date in June.

Last Sunday evening, Deputies were on patrol in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue. Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a green and black motorcycle because it did not have any license plates displayed. The driver of the motorcycle, who was not named in the report, was cited on two charges. One was for Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle with the DOR and another was for No Operator's License. The unnamed driver was given a court date in May and released from the scene.


 

On the afternoon of March 21st, Deputies were contacted regarding a phone scam. The two different callers stated a scammer claimed to be from the Pettis County Sheriff's Office. The scammer was advising individuals that they had warrants for their arrest, and they needed to pay money over the phone to stay out of jail. The Sheriff's Office would like to take this opportunity to remind the public they will never call anyone and demand payment for arrest warrants over the phone.
