Parmalee’s ‘Be Alright’ Video Hurts If You’ve Been Through a Breakup [Exclusive Premiere]
Parmalee pack all of the raw emotion of a messy breakup into their new "Be Alright" music video, and Taste of Country fans get to see and hear it first in this exclusive premiere.
The dark and moody clip puts Parmalee lead singer Matt Thomas in the starring role — it's the story of the end of a relationship — and his love interest is pulling away. The couple breaks up while Thomas is trying to make sense of it all.
"And my friend said / 'I know you love her, but it's over, mate / It doesn't matter, put the phone away / It's never easy to walk away, let her go / It'll be alright,'" Thomas sings in the chorus.
More of the Most Heart-Wrenching Breakup Songs Ever
The band heard the original version of "Be Alright" by Australian pop/alternative artist Dean Lewis and immediately fell in love with it — they knew they needed to record their version of the song. They connected with the producer of the song, David Fanning, to help re-create the track, which they did at Legends Studio in Nashville this past December.
Lewis' original recording of "Be Alright" went No. 1 in Australia. The song currently sits at No. 29 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and has more than half a billion plays on Spotify.
Parmalee are currently performing a select number of shows this spring and will be performing at a handful of country music festivals this summer.
