Sparkling Summer Nights: Check Out Missouri’s Summer Fireworks Shows
For some folks, one of the best parts of the Fourth of July is the fireworks shows that seem to be all over Missouri. This year we're putting as comprehensive a list of area fireworks displays as we can together. We could use your help too. If you're part of an organization holding a fireworks show this summer and we don't already have your group's show listed, fill the form out below and submit it to us and we'll add your fireworks show to the list.
Most of Missouri's fireworks shows are taking place on Tuesday, July 4. Although, some shows are also scheduled for earlier that weekend, or the weekend after. Sedalia's fireworks show is scheduled for Tuesday, July 4 at the State Fairgrounds at 9:30 PM.
Kansas City's display is at the World War I Museum and Memorial and St. Louis' display is over the Mississippi River using the Gateway Arch as a backdrop. Both of these shows are also scheduled for the 4th of July. Keep scrolling to check out our entire list of area fireworks shows for the remainder of the summer.
Here is a list of area fireworks shows for Independence Day and the remainder of the summer of 2023. The list is in alphabetical order and you can get more information on the shows by clicking the town name to gett more specific information.
Blue Springs
Red, White & Blue Springs is scheduled for Saturday, July 1, from 6:00 PM -10:00 PM at Blue Springs South High School. There will be vendors, live music, fireworks, and more.
Bridgeton
The City of Bridgeton sponsored Fireworks display is at the Bridgeton Municipal Athletic Complex on Tuesday, July 4. Earlier in the day the City will hold their Fourth of July parade. The fireworks show is scheduled to start when it’s dark, which is around 8:45 PM.
Chadwick
Fireworks on Tuesday, July 4, at 9:00 PM at the Chadwick Community Building.
Clinton
It’s the 30th Anniversary of Clinton’s Olde Glory Days which runs from Thursday, June 30 through Sunday, July 2. You’ll want to check out their list of events and activities throughout their long weekend party. Fireworks close the event on Sunday, July 2, at 9:30 PM CDT.
Columbia
Columbia’s 4th of July Fire In The Sky is set for Tuesday, July 4 in Stephens Lake Park. It is the 71st year of the event.
Ellisville
Independence Day Celebration scheduled for Tuesday, July 4, starting at 7:00 PM CDT. Music from Griffin and Gargoyles along with BBQ and Drink vendors. The fireworks spectacular is set to start at 9:15 PM CDT.
Fort Leonard Wood
Fort Leonard Wood is having an Independence Day celebration on Gammon Field from 12:00 Noon to 11:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, July 4. There will be music, a car show, activities, and of course fireworks. The event is open to the public, however, post access may be required.
Green Ridge
Kurtfest 2023 is happening at 6:00 PM CDT in Green Ridge on Saturday, July 8, at the Green Ridge Recreation Organization. 31649 Hinken Road. Dirt Road Addiction is playing and fireworks will start at 10:00 PM.
Jackson
The City of Jackson will have its annual July 4th celebration at Jackson City Park. Events start with a 5k walk and continue with a car show and live entertainment. There will also be an art show, beer garden, and arts and crafts vendors. The event will be going on from 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM CDT. You can check out their full day of events which includes Helicopter Rides, A golf ball drop, and more. Fireworks begin at 9:30 PM by Rotary Lake.
Jefferson City
Jefferson City has set its Salute to America for Tuesday, July 4, with events scheduled from 8:00 AM CDT through the fireworks show over the Mississippi River at 10:00 PM CDT. There’s a 5K race, classic car show, parade, community bike ride, a beer garden, and live music. You can check out the complete event here. Fireworks are scheduled to be shot off over the Missouri River at 9:46 PM.
Kansas City
The Stars and Stripes Picnic at the National World War I Museum and Memorial is Kansas City’s official Fourth of July celebration. The south grounds of the Museum will be open for picnicking at 3:00 PM CDT on July 4. There will also be opportunities for folks to grab a bite to eat, shop from local vendors and listen to live music. Kansas City’s largest fireworks display kicks off around 9:40 PM CDT.
Kauffman Stadium/Kansas City
The Royals take on the Dodgers Friday, June 30, with summer fireworks after the show. The Royals feature fireworks after most Friday night home games throughout the summer. Regular ticket prices apply.
Lee's Summit
Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation and the City of Lee’s Summit have scheduled Legacy Blast 2023 on Monday night, July 3 at Legacy Park. Gates open at 6:00 PM and there will be concessions, food truck vendors, a DJ, and kids activities for kids 12 and under. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 PM. Wednesday, July 5, is the rain date.
Liberty
Liberty Fest is set for Monday evening July 3 at Capitol Federal Sports Complex. There will be activities from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM CDT, Food trucks and a beer garden from 6:00 PM -10:00 PM CDT, and live music from 8:00 PM -10:00 PM featuring Lost Wax and Fireworks at 10:00 PM. Parking will cost $10 and must be purchased in advance before June 27. No open fires, grills, pets, personal fireworks, or outside alcohol will be permitted.
Mark Twain Lake
There will be fireworks at the Clarence Cannon Dam on Mark Twain Lake. Suggested places to watch the fireworks include The M.W. Boudreaux Visitor Center area and the North and South Spillway areas. They can also be viewed from your boat on the water. Sunday, July 2, at 9:30 PM.
Olathe, Kansas
It’s an evening of fireworks that will take you back to the 1860s as part of Olathe’s Family Fun Nights. On Thursday, July 6, from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm. Fireworks are free to attend, although you must be on the grounds to view the fireworks. Along with the fireworks, patriotic music, and the Olathe Civic Band, there will be pie, ice cream, and root beer for sale in the backyard of the farmhouse. You can also visit the Mahaffie house, barn, and more to see what living in 1860 was like. Fireworks will begin at about 9:30 PM CDT.
Overland Park, Kansas
It’s an evening of concerts, music, and fireworks during Overland Park’s Star Spangled Spectacular at Corporate Woods Founders’ Park on Tuesday, July 4. Food trucks and concerts begin at 5:00 PM CDT with Fireworks starting at approximately 10:00 PM CDT.
Paris
The City of Paris annual fireworks show is scheduled for Tuesday, July 4, at the City Fairgrounds. Fireworks begin at 9:00 PM.
Parkville
Parkville’s annual 4th of July Celebration is set for 2023. The day includes a pancake breakfast, community parade, food, fun, shopping, kids activities, a skydiving exhibition, and Fireworks at 9:30 PM. The best viewing spots for the fireworks are anywhere on Main Street downtown, the ball field south of the parking lot, and English Landing Park.
Piedmont
Piedmont is celebrating Independence Day with a visit from the Traveling Korean Memorial from July 3 – July 6 on the Greenway. On Tuesday, July 4, Piedmont’s Independence Day events include a parade on Main Street at 7:00 PM CDT, followed by fireworks at 9:15 PM.
Pomme De Terre Lake
The Pomme de Terre Chamber of Commerce presents its annual fireworks show at the Overlook Picnic Area on Saturday, July 1. Pre-fireworks festivities begin at 5:00 PM and the fireworks show begins at dusk.
Richland
On Saturday, July 8 Richland Missouri will have its Independence Day Fireworks at Shady Dell Park, the event begins at 6:00 PM. The event includes music, food, fun, and of course fireworks.
St. Louis
Fair Saint Louis presents a reimagined city-wide celebration on July 4 with the Fireworks Spectacular being set against the backdrop of the Gateway Arch that evening. Earlier in the day the 140th America’s Birthday Parade has been scheduled in downtown St. Louis.
Sedalia
The City of Sedalia presents a full day of family fun on the 4th of July. The “National Treasure” parade will take place at 10:00 AM CDT in downtown Sedalia. That will be followed by a free picnic at Centennial Park from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM CDT, and half-price swimming from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Centennial Pool. Fireworks will be at the Missouri State Fairgrounds at 9:30 PM CDT.
Shell Knob
The Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce will have a fireworks show on Table Rock Lake at the Shell Knob Bridge. Tuesday, July 4, at 9:00 PM CDT.
Smithville
Smithville is hosting its annual fireworks show in Smith’s Fork Park on Saturday, July 1, at roughly 9:00 PM. They recommend watching the show from Smith’s Fork Park on the lake near the dam, Smith’s Fork Campground, and the areas surrounding the park.
Warsaw
Warsaw’s Dam Experience Fireworks at Truman Reservoir is scheduled for Saturday, July 1, at 9:00 PM CDT.
Warrensburg
Grover Park Baptist Church is holding its Freedom Spectacular on Sunday night July 2. The Warrensburg Community Band will play in the Worship Center from 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM CDT, with fireworks outside the church after the performance is completed.
Wright City
Cedar Lake Cellars presents Pyromania 2023 on Saturday, September 16. This is a two-hour fireworks display artistically set to music to create a sky concert that includes fireworks, gasoline fireballs, and an amazing finale that the organizers claim attendees say is “better than Disney.” Tickets range from $20 to $125 dollars and parking costs $25.
