You Won’t Believe Missouri’s Most Popular Curse Word It’s Not Bad
I'm sure cursing has been around for as long as the humane language existed, but there is one word that Missourians like to use the most and to me, it's not really a curse word.
Missouri's Most Used Curse Word
Whether you're cursing for road rage, in an argument, or just having a casual conversation cursing has become a big part of the English language. I curse like a sailor and in my 22 years of broadcasting, I can't believe that I have NEVER cursed on the air. It's actually a miracle.

Word.Tips surveyed each state to find which curse word is used the most in social media postings, conversations, and just common slag, and the word they chose for Missouri, in my opinion, is really not a curse word at all.
HELL.
Yup. Out of all the curse words, Misourisan's favorite to use is hell. See, it's not that bad at all. Compared to other states it's minor. Heck, I can even say that on-air and get away with it.
the research also found that during the pandemic year, especially the first year, profanities were up 41% on Facebook, and from 2019 - 2012 up 27% on X. I guess people just need to use curse words to express their feelings. I know when I start going and I'm on a roll it's every other word...sometimes I surprise myself with the cursing on how much I do.
Whether you do or don't use profanities the common word for Missouri won't get you in too much trouble. Just don't watch The Godfather, or Casino or anything with Joe Pesci.
