Missouri Man Drowns In Kayak Accident in Current River

A Missouri man drowned in a kayak accident Friday afternoon in Shannon County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 48-year-old Jason A. Bollinger of Birch Tree, Mo., was on the Current River in a 10-foot kayak at Martin Hollow, 10 miles east of Eminence around 4 p.m. when Bollinger fell into the water and failed to resurface.

He was later pronounced deceased on scene by Deputy Coroner R. D. Bell at 4:21 p.m.The body was taken to Yarber Funeral Home in Mountain View, Mo.
