‘Mission: Impossible 5’ Trailer: This Might Be Ethan Hunt’s Last Mission
Just yesterday, we got our first real taste of Mission: Impossible 5 via a one-minute teaser trailer, but you should probably hold onto your seats because today brings the full trailer with even more Tom Cruise spy action and intrigue. Officially titled Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, the fifth installment in the franchise sees Ethan Hunt and the crew going up against a team of what are essentially anti-IMF agents, put together to bring Hunt’s organization down.
That the IMF has enemies is nothing new, but in Rogue Nation they’ve been effectively disbanded, thanks in part to the work of politicians, like the one played by Alec Baldwin. Following the dismantling of Hunt’s organization, a rogue team of highly-skilled agents come together to form The Syndicate to destroy the IMF. What follows is a battle between uniquely trained agents on both sides, which of course involves a lot of dangerous stunts, impressive spy work, and Tom Cruise running like he’s never ran before.
Yesterday’s teaser was a bit heavier on action and intrigue to spark our interest (as if we needed it), but today’s full-length trailer fleshes out the premise even more with the help of returning co-stars Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames.
Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie reunites with Tom Cruise for the fifth installment of the franchise, and when these two dudes get together, things have a tendency to get pretty awesome. Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation also stars Rebecca Ferguson and Simon McBurney and hits theaters on July 31.
