MIAA Aproves Plan for 2020 Season; UCM Football Schedule Released
The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, of which the University of Central Missouri is a member, announced their action plan for the 2020 season. Some of the changes, according to an MIAA release include:
- A 10 game football season.
- Elimination of non-conference games in men's and women's basketball, and women's soccer.
- Option for Volleyball programs to consolidate dates, which would make non-conference games permissible.
- Brackets and dates for MIAA Championships.
The MIAA says they've implemented these measures to reduce costs to the schools and the MIAA front office due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, the MIAA Network will adopt a pay per view model and will charge fans to view the games. However, with charging fans to watch the games, there will be some improvements in the Network's coverage. These include 1080p video quality and full distribution through a dedicated MIAA Network app available for both Android and Apple products.
On the heels of the MIAA's adjustment of schedules, the University of Central Missouri released the Mules Football schedule. There will be ten games, and all games will be taking place on Saturday. Five games will be scheduled at home and the Mules will be on the road for five games. And because the MIAA is a twelve team conference each league member will not face one team.

Other special dates include: family day vs. Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday September 26, homecoming vs. Pittsburg State on Saturday October 24, and senior day November 14.
Game times for all games have not been finalized, however all Mules home football games will start at 1:00PM CST except homecoming which is scheduled to start at 1:30PM CST.
