Marideth Sisco Performing at ‘Summer Nights’ Series at Daum Museum
Musician Marideth Sisco will visit the campus of State Fair Community College with a performance during the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art's Summer Nights series on July 26.
According to a news release from the Daum Museum:
Sisco is a retired journalist whose music was featured in the 2010 award-winning film “Winter’s Bone” that starred Jennifer Lawrence. She has shared her down-home tales of the Missouri Ozarks for diverse audiences across the country. Guitarist Linda Stoffel will accompany Sisco.
"I think she's well-known as across the country as a folklorist, storyteller, and singer of folk tunes, and all based on the Ozark hill country," said museum director Tom Piché. "People seem to be really excited about this. I heard from a woman who lives down by Monett, Missouri, and she's making the trek up to hear Marideth Sisco."
The Daum Museum will have hours of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 26. The Marideth Sisco concert will be at 6 p.m at the Stauffacher Theatre on the State Fair Community College campus. Tickets are not required; admission is free.
Following the July Summer Nights event, there will be a final special program as part of the series at the museum. On August 23, members of SpoFest will present an evening of spoken word and music from area poets, writers and musicians. This will be the second year that SpoFest has been featured at the Daum Museum.
