Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have some big news: They are officially husband and wife! The two got married on Saturday (March 24), a little more than eight months after getting engaged.

People confirms that Morris and Hurd were married in Nashville. The two got engaged in July of 2017. He popped the question while they were at his family's lake house; she says it was totally unexpected. The day before their nuptials (March 23), Hurd released "Diamonds or Twine," a song he wrote for Morris and played for her the night he asked her to marry him.

Morris previously told Taste of Country Nights that she planned to wear a short wedding dress, just like her mom once did; Morris dress was custom-made by Nashville-based Cavanagh Baker.

The singer also told the radio show that she had a very specific vision for the wedding: "I just want [the wedding] to feel like us the people, and not us the artists," she said, adding close friends and family are also a priority. "We're gonna have some tequila, my dog's gonna be there ... I want it to feel like a party. I don't want it to be a stuffy, sit-down, plated dinner."

Both Morris and Hurd are singer-songwriters signed to Sony Music Nashville. The two met in 2013, during a songwriting session, when they were randomly put together to write; during that session, they penned “Last Turn Home,” which Tim McGraw recorded. The pair remained friends for a couple of years until, they say, "the timing of it was inevitable," they and began their courtship in earnest.
