Maren Morris Gives Fun-Loving Performance of ‘Rich’ at 2018 ACM Awards
Country singer Maren Morris took the stage at the 2018 ACM Awards on Sunday evening (April 15) for a rousing performance of her latest single, "Rich." The irreverent, swagger-packed song comes from her 2016 debut album, Hero.
Dressed in a shimmering, skin-baring-but-super-glamorous gown, Morris sang "If I had a dollar every time that I swore you off / And a $20 every time I picked up when you called / And a crisp new Benjamin for when you're here then gone again / And a dollar every time I was right about you after all / I'd be rich." Her onstage presence was just as sassy and fun as the song itself: Her stage boasted a massive "RICH" light-up sign, and confetti rained down as the song ended.
"Ya'll see that sign?" 2018 ACM Awards host Reba McEntire joked after Morris' performance. "They got it off of [Big & Rich member] John Rich's front door."
Morris' performance earned her a standing ovation from some of her fellow country artists in the crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Morris recently released a Wild West-themed music video for "Rich." She's nominated for, among other honors, Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 ACM Awards.
