Man Taken to the Hospital After Shooting Himself in the Leg
Sedalia Police say a man was transported to University Hospital in Columbia after a gun went off and struck him in the leg.
According to a police report, officers responded around 2 a.m. on April 5 to the 200 block of Rainbow, where two intoxicated men had reportedly gotten into an argument that escalated into a fight. After separating the men, police say one of them attempted to reposition a gun in his waistband. The gun went off and the man was struck in the right leg.
The suspects were not identified in the police report, but state charges are being submitted. Police say the man that was shot suffered "non-life threatening injuries."
